A game between these two teams had two questions at the beginning for Stoke how many can we score? And for Ottery do we have a chance?
Stoke won nine two at Ottery back in October with a hand full of scorers but we didn’t expect that many as Dave Worthington was out injured and a change of manager for Ottery with numerous changes on the playing side..
Stoke broke the deadlock early on after two minutes when Lloyd Clark scored in the bottom corner from a shot just outside the box. Exactly ten minutes later Stoke scored again this time a own goal when Dan Broadway crossed the ball into the box which Joe Broadbent fumbled into his own net for two nil Stoke. A while later and it was three nil when Dan Broadway got released in the box to calmly shoot past Joe Broadbent for Stoke’s third.
Half time score
Stoke Gabriel 3 Ottery 0
On the hour and Stoke were awarded a penalty when Rich Baker was brought down in the box. Dan Broadway stood up instead of the usual Kev Wills to slot home for Stoke’s fourth.
Seventy second minute and Ottery pulled a goal back when Ben Vines shot was blocked by Grant Fisher to fall to Jake Allen’s feet to tap home.
Game on?
NO is the answer to that as less than forty seconds later Mark Newbould showed off a bit of skill before shooting past Joe Broadbent from the edge of the box.
Five one it finished in an interesting game.
